Memorial Bridge Traffic Changes / Detour Maps

THE BRIDGE IS OPEN!   GO AND ENJOY THE RIDE OVER IT!   WALK, BIKE OR DRIVE!  PORTSMOUTH AND KITTERY ARE CONNECTED ONCE AGAIN.

It’s only a short drive from Portsmouth, NH to Kittery, ME and back again. The interactive Google Map in the large box below will assist in your travel planning during the temporary closure of the Memorial Bridge.  Orange detours signs are also located along the roadways so please just follow these signs.   Or, click on the small blue boxes below for a printable detour map.  Directions are also provided on the toll free project hotline.   Just dial 1-888-DOT-RIDE and select option 3 or option 4.

State Street – Re-Routed

In addition to the recent closure of Dutton Avenue and Scott Avenue, the underpass located at the end of State Street in Portsmouth, will be closed to traffic, on March 31 at 7:00 am, to allow for demolition to continue. Two dead ends will be created. The Prescott Park parking lot will remain open for vehicles. The new traffic pattern is shown on the map.  Stay tuned for further updates on the date of closure.

Drive with Caution, Near the Bridge

If you are driving near the Memorial Bridge, in Portsmouth, please use extra caution near Prescott Park, State Street, Marcy Street, and Daniel Street.  There are many pedestrians, cyclists, painters,
